Louboutin Trademark to be adopted by Zara?

Following the creation of a red soled open toe shoe in Zara, Christian Louboutin has been forced to part with approximately £2,000 as compensation for unjustly suing the company for using his trademark red sole.

But essentially these ‘Louboutin look-a-likes’ will be bought by many for the red sole’s association with a designer brand. Whilst these friendly £40 shoes may quell the desire of owning a pair of red soled Louboutins, their authenticity will be foiled when Louboutin’s brand is found to be replaced on the shoe by the high street brand ‘Zara’.

Louboutin may not have successfully patented the red sole as his trade mark, but it remains even without legal confirmation, a trademark of some fabulous shoes.
